On episode 40 of Crosshairs Radio we talk to Micah Rice, USA Cycling Vice President of National Events. Micah is in charge of all USAC national championships and we spend a lot of time discussing cyclocross nationals. From if the event should move back from January to December, to whether the event should be four days rather than six.

So many topics to cover and we touched on a whole bunch of them. Thank you to everyone who submitted a question for Micah. I tried to work in as many as I could and apologize to those whose questions were not addressed. We may do this again in the future with Micah and can answer those questions in round two.

Thanks to The Service Course for sponsoring the episode. Check out the cleaning kits featuring tampico brushes available at www.theservicecourse.com. And follow along on Twitter at @sc_cycling. For the record, I had a 50/50 chance of getting right what BYOB stood for in The Service Course parlance. And I got it wrong. It's not bring your own brushes (that just sounds silly in retrospect) but rather bring your own bucket. I'll get it right next time.

It's podcast crossover time on Crosshairs Radio. Similar to how Richard Belzer would occasionally pop up in Law and Order episodes while he was starring in Homicide: Life on the Streets, before eventually getting his own Law and Order franchise, we are bringing in John Gatch of The Two Johns Podcast fame to add his always entertaining take on the world of cyclocross.

We set out to talk about the World Cup schedule and the show sprouts out in all directions from there, before ending with our favorite Two Johns moments.

This episode also kicks off the Wide Angle Podium Network donor drive. We want to keep the good times rolling and need your help to make it possible. Go to www.wideanglepodum.com, become a member and get cool stuff.

The episode is also sponsored by www.icksnay.com. Go check out the ICKSNAY wares. Buy a scarf, and everything else.

We take the Crosshairs Radio show on the road, once again, for episode 38. This time, to the Twin Cities, where I sat down with Nicole Mertz for a conversation that ranges from her first race ever on a single-speed cyclocross bike, that culminated in a stars and stripes jersey, to a bit of controversy surrounding her road racing season.

We talked on my in-laws porch in St. Paul, Minnesota, which means there's a bit of ambient sound, including dogs barking and kids playing, but the conversation is loud and clear. So grab a tall glass of iced tea (unsweetened), find a porch and a rocking chair, and settle in for the show.

You can check out Nicole's graphic design work at nicolemertz.com and follow her on Instagram at @mertz019.
